Judah & the Lion cover Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down"

Nashville, Tennessee’s rising alt band Judah & The Lion recorded a cover of Tom Petty’s Full Moon Fever lead single, “I Won’t Back Down.”

The recording is part of Spotify Singles. the band put another spin on their current single, “Why Did You Run?” Then backed that with the Petty cover.

Judah & The Lion slow it down and deliver a melancholy treatment to the Petty anthem.

Judah & The Lion enjoy considerably more success in the US on modern rock radio with “Why Did You Run?’ at number 24 on the alt rock charts.

Brian Macdonald explains the song, “the lyrics in this song are painful, but the music is happy and hopeful. As humans we all will understand that contrast at some point in our lives, and the pain allows us to find hope.”
