With the recent loss of Jovan Santos-Knox to free agency, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are in the market for a new starting linebacker.
The Bombers signed a pair of candidates to fill the opening on Tuesday with the additions of linebackers Dale Warren and Chinedu Oparaku.
Oparaku, 22, attended training camp with the Bombers last year after a three-year college career with Fairmont State University. In his senior season, Oparaku had 33 tackles, one sack, and one blocked kick. He also recorded three sacks in the 2017 National Bowl which is a showcase of draft eligible players.
Warren, 23, played four seasons with the NCAA division one Chattanooga Mocs. He totaled 151 tackles, three forced fumbles and seven sacks over 43 games. In his junior season, Warren tied the school record for most tackles for a loss in a single season.
With the two new additions the Bombers now have 10 linebackers listed on their off-season roster.
