On Wednesday, March 13th Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida will host the Winnipeg premiere of their new film I’m Going To Break Your Heart at The Park Theatre.
The film is an accompaniment to the musical collaboration between these two great Canadian songwriters called Moon vs Sun, which was released on March 1st.
“Part therapeutic process, part creative journey, I’m Going to Break Your Heart is the true story of rediscovering love through creativity, in which music plays the lead role. Nearly two decades together, Maida and Kreviazuk face challenges – like most people – with their relationship. I’m Going to Break Your Heart captures the raw and wrenching journey they took to find their way back to each other. Filmed on France’s isolated but romantic Saint Pierre et Miquelon island in the dead of winter, the documentary immerses viewers in their musical relationship, even as it exposes long-standing wounds and unresolved heartache.” (Warner Music Canada)
Details about a wide release of the film will be announced soon but in the meantime, Raine and Chantal took the time to chat with Peggy@99-1 about the making of the album and film and what’s it’s like bearing their souls for all to see in such a permanent form.
Tickets for the Winnipeg event are on sale now for $50. At 7:15pm Chantal and Raine will introduce the film. Following a short intermission they will host a combined Q&A and intimate performance. A cross-Canada tour will follow in April and May.
