WINNIPEG — He helped Canada to a golden curling trifecta in the Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Sanford’s Dennis Thiessen landed at Winnipeg’s Richardson International Airport Tuesday night to dozens of hugs and congratulations.
Thiessen is the vice-skip on Canada’s wheelchair curling team, who took gold in a win over Russia Saturday at the Paralympic Winter Games.
Thiessen told Global News he’s overwhelmed by the support he’s received and still reeling from the gold win in Sochi.
“I knew after my last shot the game was over, and I don’t know, it’s just surreal.”
