August 8, 2022 – The fourth annual Winnipeg Tattoo Convention takes over Red River Exhibition Park August 12th, 13th and 14th. This three-day celebration of tattoo art and culture will feature more than 250 tattoo artists including some of North America’s best plus tattoo artists from around the world.

“As always, we are excited to showcase incredible tattooing from local and international talent. Winnipeggers have a chance to get tattooed by amazing artists from around the world,” says event coordinator Rich Handford who is a Winnipeg tattoo artist and owner of Kapala Tattoo.

The weekend also features live music, artwork, a beer garden, outdoor market, motorcycles and more. Performances include the Summer Bear Dance Troupe, Flying Lions, Romi Mayes, Wanda G and Joe Curtis as well as other local musical talent curated by Manitoba’s Curbside Concerts.

The convention marks an important milestone as the tattoo industry continues to recover from long shutdowns during COVID-19 restrictions.

“Our industry was forced to stay closed longer than other types of businesses,” explains Handford. “To be able to hold the convention again means we are getting back to normal, back to making a living and enjoying this opportunity to celebrate our love of tattooing and art with Manitobans,” says Handford.

Those wishing to get tattooed at the convention can book with artists ahead of time or search for an artist at the convention. Day passes are $30 and weekend passes are $60.More information on artists, tickets and the weekend’s events can be found at winnipegtattooconvention.com.
