A message from the organizer:
“My name is Jordan and I’m a grade 11 student from West Kildonan Collegiate. I’m holding a series of electronics recycling drives this spring to help reduce e-waste in our landfills and prevent contaminents from hurting our watershed and wildlife. This is being done through the Electronics Recycling Association’s (ERA) scholarship program. The ERA collects devices and either refurbishes them to give to charities or pulls apart and recycles them to avoid new material needing to be mined. They have a 100% Secure Data Destruction policy in order to ensure that all information is wiped from any devices donated. After having the phone drive I had started at my school cancelled last year due to the pandemic I’m really excited to get to run this initiative this year!”
